I saw God in WORM

Back in April 2008, my church, Christ Church United in Lowell (www.cculowell.org), embarked on a new way of doing Christian Education for youth. Our Christian Ed. Director, Jenn Macy, introduced us to W.O.R.M. (Workshop Rotation Model).

Our youth amaze me and the experience to be with them for a month was something I’ll never forget. The diversity of kids and ages and ideas made it so meaningful to be present with them. The kids were so filled with the spirit of God that the congregation could literally hear their laughter and excitement in the sanctuary. I feel blessed to be a part of this ministry.

Check out this video which tells the story better than I ever could…

In Peace,

Chris

    Chris,
I was so happy to see the WORM video.
I can’t get over how many teachers are signed up, the type of people who don’t feel they have the skills…but when the Holy Spirit blows through Christ Church, and people see needs of others, they are so ready to share their gifts – becoming the “hands and feet” of Jesus Christ.

Speaking of becoming the “body of Christ” we are over-subscribed for Vacation Bible School this week! Many of the same teachers are “helping hands” today as we “unpack” the meaning of the bible story of “Daniel and the Lions Den”
It’s hot this morning, but we’re ready for all the kids – thirty of which we’ve never met/seen before!

    God is good.
We have so much to look forward to here.
I’m glad our visioning process is soon to be completed and that we can begin re-purposing our building for the new millenium!

    Blessings,

    Pastor Pete

  2. [...] Don’t forget! If you loved camp you will love the CCU Youth Programs! Sunday school starts on September 7th at 10am and we will be launching the new Workshop Rotation Model of Christian Education. Sunday school is split up by age groups and encompasses children and youth from kindergarten through the 12th grade. We also have an excellent nursery program for children 0-5 years old, which mirrors the Workshop Rotation Model curriculum in an age appropriate way. Have any questions? Talk to Jenn, the CCU Children and Youth Director, she would be happy to explain the curriculum and philosophy of the WORM program. [...]
